Katie Morgan

Katie Morgan joined the USF's athletic department in the capacity of director of creative video in the spring of 2013.

As head of digital/creative, Katie Morgan led the digital transformation of USF Athletics by building an in-house agency featuring major contributions from undergraduate students. Her most notable project, Behind the Mask, is a 30 minute documentary that airs monthly on Comcast SportsNet Bay Area which showcases student athletes from the University of San Francisco.

Morgan is the Recipient of the 2015 AVCA Grant Burger Media Award for Division I NCAA Volleyball and the 2017 USTFCCCA Excellence in Communication Award for Division I NCAA Cross Country. Last year, She won the the 2017-18 Northern California Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievement Sports Program Feature called Joey's Journey. She is nominated again for a one-hour documentary on Title IX called The Rise: 45 Years of Greatness and Beyond.

Morgan is a four-time Emmy Award-winning freelance television and film producer, videographer, and editor. She began her career at NBC Sports as a production assistant for NBA Show Time and Sun America Sports Desk. While moving through the ranks at NBC, she was hired as an associate producer for the Olympics.

In her 12-year television career she developed, coordinated, and produced programs for NBC Olympics, Major League Baseball, YES Network, ESPN, CSTV, Spike TV, and Fox Sports.

Morgan has created over 100 hours of broadcast television, including the acclaimed documentary, The Sunbelt Classic - Where the Pros are Born.

She was a college softball player at Kansas University from 1993-97, where she earned first-team All-Big 12 honors and ranks ninth on the Kansas all-time career doubles list. She was also a four-year Jayhawk Scholar and earned a spot on the Academic All-Big 12 first team.

Morgan served as a graduate assistant at the University of Alabama from 1997-2000. She is the author of Trials and Triumphs: The Truth About Sports as Told by College Athletes in Their Own Words.

Morgan received her bachelor's degree in education from Kansas in 1996 and her master's degree from Alabama in 2000.
